The slab turning device has a maximum load capacity of 15 tons and carries heated steel blocks to a forging press.
The slabs will be heated in a chamber furnace onto forging temperature. Then they will be placed on the designated receptacle plate on the slab turning device. By a pivoting motion, the slabs are carried into the required position for the manipulator. The forging manipulator takes over the blocks and the device traverse in the neutral position.
Furthermore, the slab turning device is used for an efficient implementation of the forging.
